Accommodations at College for International Studies

CIS students who are studying for a semester or academic year may choose from a variety of accommodations options.

Spanish Host Family

Host family accommodations with carefully selected Spanish families are recommended to all CIS students as this is the most effective way for students practice their Spanish outside of class.  This way, students will also enjoy getting to know more about Spanish culture, and day to day life in a Spanish home.  Students will be able to choose between full or partial board, and to have a single or double room.  Host families take care of students&apostrofe; laundry, and provide students with linens and towels. 

Student Residence

Private student residences are also available to students.  In the residences sometimes there is a curfew and other times not.  There is no cafeteria in the residence, but students may contract out a meal plan with a nearby restaurant if they wish.   CIS students would share the residence accommodations with other Spanish university students and other students from CIS.

Shared Student Apartment

Private apartments are also available to students who prefer to have a more independent option.  Students may pair up or make groups and live together in an apartment.  Apartment living is by far the most independent living arrangement, and students will need to be in charge of preparing meals, laundering clothes, and regular cleaning.  The apartments usually have two to three bedrooms, and are fully furnished, with all of the necessities for a comfortable arrangement.
