The Year study abroad program for international students at Antonio Nebrija is a flexible program with many course offerings as well as support and continued Spanish study. UAN prepares international students with a four
-week intensive Spanish language course before the fall semester begins. After the four-week course, students who need support in Spanish are encouraged to sign up for a Spanish course for the semester and may enter into up to four academic courses in their particular areas of interest. All students who have at least an upper intermediate level of Spanish may elect their own program of study. In addition to courses, international students will have many opportunities to participate in social and cultural activities with other international students. The university has two campuses: the Dehesa de la Villa Campus is located near the center of Madrid where the faculties of the Spanish, Computer and Engineering are located. Here you can choose from a wide range of courses related to Spanish Studies, and depending on your level you can choose from over ten courses related to Hispanic Studies, such as Current Issues in Spain, 20th Century Literature, Art in the Prado Museum, Contemporary Spanish Society, the Modern Spanish Novel, Business Spanish, Spanish Politics and Diversity in Spain. The second campus Berezosa is located about 40 minutes away and is easy to reach on Madrid’s excellent public transportation system, and if you are interested in studies in other fields and have at least a high intermediate level of Spanish, you are welcome to participate in courses in other subject areas on the Berezosa campus. Outings in Madrid, such as theater, film, and dinners are organized by the university, as are optional visits to nearby cities of interest like Toledo, Segovia, and Avila.
