The summer program at UAN allows students to combine an Intensive Spanish language course with one other course selection in one of the following areas: Spanish literature, Art, Culture, and in July, students may also choose to study Business Spanish. Advanced level students may opt to study in two academic courses such as Spanish Literature and Business Spanish. There are two four-week sessions. Students have the option of to participate in one or both sessions. Cultural visits are included in the program, such as walking tours of Madrid, guided tours of museums, and to other places of interest in and around Madrid, for example the Palacio Real, Senado, Congreso and Banco de España. Optional tours to nearby cities like Toledo, Segovia, Avila, and Salamanca are also available for an additional fee. If you are interested in learning any of the famous Spanish dances: Flamenco, Sevillanas or Salsa, classes are available for a small additional cost. UAN's summer course is a way to fit both Spanish and additional studies into a fun summer immersion program in the capital city of Madrid.

Homestay

Student Residence
Homestay: UAN students in semester or year abroad programs can live with a Spanish host family, where they will have a single bedroom and may choose between the following meal options:
(1) Full board
(2) Partial board
Students will share a bath, and host families will provide towels and bed linens, as well as laundry service.

University residence: During the summer, students may choose to live in a university residence in Madrid. There are two residences for UAN students. One is located in one in the neighborhood called Barrio de Salamanca. It offers individual rooms, each with a private bath. All installations are in perfect condition, and international students may enjoy living among other Spanish university students. This residence adheres to a schedule, and female students must be inside the dorm by 11:00 on weekdays, and on weekends, the curfew is extended to 3:00 am. The residence accepts vegetarians and adapts its menu to any dietary needs. During the month of June the residence is only available to female students. During July, the residence is available to both male and female students.
The second residence possibility is located about a 15 minute walking distance from the campus. This residence is for both males and females during the summer months. It offers an international atmosphere to students, and the possibility to have an individual or double room. The residence caters to vegetarians and will adapt its menu for any special dietary needs.
Both residences offer full board seven days per week. Towels and linens are provided. Rooms are cleaned daily.
At the residences, it is important to note that the staff on site is Spanish speaking, and that there may not be anyone there who speaks English or any other language. For students who have not studied Spanish extensively or are under 21, Estudiafuera recommends the homestay.
