During the summer months, university and pre-university students may study Spanish at the Universidad de Navarra's Institute of Spanish Language and Culture. The summer course at ILCE focuses primarily on developping and reinforcing students' grammatical base, as well as their spoken Spanish. Topics related to Spanish culture and society are also integrated into this course.
Students meet for a total of 20 class hours per week. The course is divided up into two week modules. Complementary cultural activities and excursions to nearby places of interest are also incorporated into the course, some of which may include a films and film forums, conferences on varios topics given by Universidad de Navarra faculty, visits led by the university faculty to places of historical, cultural, or artistic importance, excursions to nearby towns such as San Sebastián, Burgos, and Huesca.
Every two-week module completed is equivalent to 3 credits. Preference will be given to those students who wish to enroll for a minimum of two modules (4 weeks) (6 credits), but students have the option to enroll for a minimum of a one week course.
This course is a great way for students who will be enrolling in traditional academic courses at UN to improve their Spanish and become accustomed to Spanish university life before their academic courses begin.
