An excellent opportunity for students who are studying international relations or business, as well as Spanish, Francisco de Vitoria’s internship program offers students the possibility to do an internship in almost any field of interest, with some of Spain’s most outstanding companies. This is a fantastic addition to a resumé, and a great way for students to gain valuable work experience while practicing and improving their Spanish. First you will start with a four week Internship Preparation Program, which will include Spanish language courses, a variety of résumé and interview workshops and interviews with companies where the internship assignment may take place.
Your internship will be full time, 8 hours per day, 4 days per week for the remaining 12 weeks. On the 5th day you will return to the campus for further language preparation (4 hours) and once a month you will meet with your internship tutor to assure everything is going well on your work placement. Your evaluation process will consist of a written assessment in Spanish and will be combined with a report from the company to determine the final grade. You will also be able to take part in the university’s “Spain Through the Ages” program. By living, learning and working in the capital of Spain, Madrid, you will be very near to some of the most important cities along Spain’s historical timeline. From the Roman times to the present European Union, students will have the opportunity to visit cities that have played a key role in Spain’s cultural heritage. This will include one full day excursion per month to such places as Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca, Avila and El Escorial.
